FAQ

FAQ

Can we bring in our own food?

You are allowed to bring in your own food, or use any caterer you choose.

Are we allowed to serve alcohol?

We do not have a liquor license, which means that you are allowed to bring in beer, wine, or canned cocktails to serve to your guests, as long as you are providing it, not selling it.  No hard liquor is allowed.

How many people does your venue hold?

Our indoor space can accommodate up to 48 guests.  If you have a larger event, consider adding our outdoor space or having an open house style event, where not all guests are there at the same time.

What do we have to do to clean up after our event?

We ask that you remove all food and take out the trash (garbage totes are located on the west side of the building), sweep the floor, and wipe down the tables and counters.  If you used any serving pieces, please wash them and leave them out on the counter. This information is also posted in the kitchenette.

Can we hang things on the walls?

Let's chat about what you would like to display.  We have some suggestions for places to hang banners, signs, etc.  We also have easels for signs/posters and built-in display cases that you are welcome to use.  We do ask that you not tape anything to our walls.

Do I bring my own trash bags, dish soap, etc.?

Nope!  We provide those essentials.

Where can my guests park?

There is on-street parking in front of The Cottage, as well as on the west side.  There is a public parking lot directly across the street and another public lot diagonally from our building. You will find another public parking lot a block south of us.

When do you need payment?

For showers and other parties, we ask for 50% down to reserve the date, with the balance due the day of the event.  We accept cash, check, or credit/debit cards.

Payment for weddings is different and will be discussed with the couple at the time of booking.

What is your cancellation policy?

First, we will make every effort to reschedule your event at a later date. We want to be accommodating and fair, but we probably turned other customers away for the date you had reserved.  If you cancel more than three months before your reservation, we will refund your deposit.  If you cancel less than three months before your reserved date, your deposit is forfeited.
